Gustavo Piga is professor of Political Economy at the University of Roma Tor Vergata and director of both the three-year degree course in Global Governance and the second-level Master in Procurement Management.
He acquired his skills abroad, especially in the United States; he was an OECD expert for the “Public contracts and transparency” sector, a member of the EuroMTS scientific committee and the Luigi Einaudi Foundation, and an Associate Editor at Applied Economics and Journal of Public Procurement.
From 2002 to 2005 he was President without operative proxies at Consip SpA.
Currently, he is the director of Rivista di Politica Economica (Political Economy Magazine). His scientific production is particularly focused on public debt management, the monetary policies, and theories of public contracts.
He was president of Viaggiatori in movimento (Moving travellers) and also one of its founders.
