The University of Siena and Rondine Cittadella della Pace are promoting a Master’s degree in Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action, born from the collaboration between the Department of social, political and cognitive sciences and the Association from Arezzo, with the special participation of some members of the international NGO Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

The Master, in English language and one-year long, offers graduated students highly specialized skills, both on a theoretical and practical level, in conflict management and humanitarian actions into an intercultural context. The program focuses on global challenges faced by the humanitarian sector: from global health to migration, from the management of humanitarian interventions to humanitarian negotiation, until advocacy and communication.

The learning activities are divided in modules and toggle between lectures, workshops, witnesses from professionals and interactive and interdisciplinary ways of debating. There is a specific training module on the Rondine Method that explores the relational approach to creative conflict transformation and is articulated to allow understanding the theoretical and methodological approaches and the necessary tools to know how to generate “relational habitats”.

The last months of the Master’s are dedicated to an internship at organizations and institution of the sector in question.

The 4th editon of the Master in Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action is expected to start in January 2023. Applications are open until December 1st, 2022

The applicants must possess a 1st cycle degree (e.g., B.A.) or higher.
